Live Oak Kids

About Us
At Live Oak Kids our mission is to spark curiosity, connection, and lifelong well-being through the power of play and the natural world.
Rooted in connection and a strengths-based approach, we target foundational brain and sensory systems to help kids and caregivers build lasting skills for success at home and school. We partner with families to help your child grow, connect, engage and enjoy !
Our Approach
Our approach focuses on the critical early years. By understanding the nervous system and the importance of play, we support self-regulation and skill-building in ways that help children grow confident in who they are. With an approach that equips both children and caregivers, we set a foundation for long-term success at home and school.
Not sure how to help your child navigate sensory challenges, big feelings, or school struggles?
At Live Oak Kids, we guide parents in supporting their child’s unique needs through play, movement, and sensory-based strategies. Our sessions create an enriching space for children to explore, connect, and grow – all while giving caregivers the tools and confidence to help them flourish beyond our weekly sessions.

Our Mission
At LOKi, we’re passionate about inspiring kids and families to experience the magical benefits of nature through outdoor play. Our mission is to help kids grow, engage, and connect – with nature, each other, and themselves. We believe in the transformative power of play to foster joy, curiosity, and confidence.

If your child struggles with new situations, coordination, playing with others, or big emotions, you're in the right place. We create safe, engaging spaces, where kids can explore, build skills, and grow confidently – encouraged by the magic of nature as co-facilitator. Together, we’ll better understand your child’s strengths and unique needs so your family can experience more joy, ease, and connection.
Hi, I'm Maggie !
Occupational Therapist, MOT, OTR/L, Owner and Founder
I am an occupational therapist, nature enthusiast, and parent who understands the challenge of finding the right answers for your unique child.

With 18+ years as a pediatric OT and specialized training in sensory processing, early childhood development, and nature-based therapy, I’ve seen firsthand how children flourish when they’re given the proper support. I created Live Oak Kids to offer holistic, joyful, evidence-based services that genuinely address the foundations of regulation, movement, and engagement.
Outdoor play in nature was a fundamental part of my childhood and I believe every child should have that same opportunity. I believe playing in nature isn’t just fun – it’s therapeutic and transformative. When working with our team at Live Oak Kids, I want kids to feel safe to explore, take risks, move through their emotions, and build resilience. And for parents, I want to create a space where you feel supported, empowered, and fully seen.

Our Core Values
Following your child's lead in play allows us to bring creativity and playfulness to our therapeutic work with children, promoting regulation, engagement, and joy.
Connect and Collaborate
We know that connection and collaboration is key to a child’s success which is why we utilize a relationship based approach to ensure children feel safe and supported in our programs. We love collaborating with families, teachers, and other professionals to provide effective and holistic care for children.
Cultivate Joy
We meet children where they are, attune to their needs, and follow their lead. We bring creativity and playfulness to our work in helping children discover the joy of learning, exploring, and simply being themselves.. We love learning what brings your child joy and finding ways to bring more of that joy into daily life.
Be Curious
A child's natural sense of wonder and curiosity is one of the greatest gifts of childhood. The power of observation, exploration, and curiosity opens the door to learning and discovery for children, therapists, teachers, and caregivers alike. As therapists, we never stop learning about our clients and are committed to pursuing current evidence-based approaches.
Celebrate Strengths
We embrace and celebrate every child’s unique way of thinking, communicating, feeling, and learning. By valuing neurodiversity, we help kids feel proud of who they are and foster a sense of belonging. We harness the power of each individuals strengths to grow and build new skills.
How Live Oak Kids Can Help
Kids thrive when we look at the full picture, not just isolated struggles. Our holistic approach takes into account foundational brain development, sensory motor skills, nervous system regulation, and social emotional growth.
Children develop strategies, skills and confidence so they can engage joyfully in more activities at home, school and in the community. Ultimately, children feel happier, and parents feel better equipped to support their child’s unique needs.
